Fernando received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Fernando is currently enrolled in the Masters program at UNM. He has been balancing his professional life with his school life for a few years now and he plans to finish school in 2009.

Fernando is a first-generation American on his mother's side and the first person in his family to earn a university degree. His Latin/Catholic heritage is very important to him and he expresses it in his work and through his humor.
