Jim See was educated at the University of New Mexico.  He completed his internship in Albuquerque working for Antoine Predock, Dyer-McClernon and Donald Krueger among others.  In 1977, Jim and Edie Cherry, his wife, started the firm of Cherry/See Architects, now Cherry/See/Reames Architects.  Jim was the principal responsible for design and construction phases for all the projects while Edie was teaching at UNM.

Jim has designed educational, residential, commercial, and institutional architecture projects for over 30 years.  His knowledge of construction, codes, and job site observation is second only to his dedication to design work that is well proportioned, aesthetically pleasing, and functionally appropriate often within a very tight budget.  His fairness in construction matters, and the respect he shows for others in the construction field has earned the firm the reputation in our area of being one of the architects that contractors like to work with.
