The design intent at Emerson was to create a new entrance to the campus from the north or Trumbull Avenue side. Our Master Plan identified this side of the school as the most efficient area for the student drop-off zone. We realized that the definition of the Trumbull Avenue streetscape needed another significant façade to help the visitor identify the new “front door” of the school. In future phases of campus development, the adjacent north classroom wing will easily be converted into the Administration area.

We sited the new mini-gym at the intersection of Trumbull Avenue and Indiana Street to make the presence of the school more apparent to travelers on Indiana coming south from Zuni Road. A new off-street parking lot for the staff was constructed at the south edge of the campus.
