This was the first permanent structure for the portable school site. It was located between the school and park/playground making it a challenge for construction work in trying to keep the playground accessible for the students while maintaining job site safety and access. The building is a combination block construction and metal studs and siding. A painted steel shade structure adds color while shading the south entry. One exterior wall is used as a "ball wall" for outside use. The building incorporates natural daylighting in the gym by use of clerestories and skylights.
