This project involved working on a very small site, with an average of a six-foot elevation change across the site, from west to east. The building was placed into the existing slope to preserve the maximum area available for use of the playground and the existing Kindergarten classrooms in the building to the west. This building incorporates Vierendeel trusses to support the unique roof curvature. The large music room opens out onto the outdoor courtyard for performances.
